Kidney Health Week - Northern Territory

Sunday 27 May to Saturday 2 June 2012

It's Time For Some Decent Exposure

Kidney Health Australia launches its Kidney Health Week campaign under the banner of "Red Undies Week".

Red Undies Week is designed to be playful and a little bit cheeky and give some decent exposure to chronic kidney disease, a disease which has flown under the radar for too long. To take part in Red Undies Week visit our great new website www.redundiesweek.org.au and support Kidney Health Australia. To order our poster, visit our resource centre

During Kidney Health Week - check your risk of kidney disease at www.checkmykidneys.com.au

June 1 2012 - at Marra Worra Worra Aboriginal Corporation in Fitzroy Crossing WA

The local radio station, Wangki Radio is promoting this event - their first BIG RED BBQ. The entire staff of this centre in Fitzroy Crossing, a group of over 50 people, are getting involved with our Red Undies Week to promote awareness and give some decent exposure to kidney disease. There will be displays of various kidney health information at the event and our posters and postcards will be available.

Free Kidney Health Checks
Alice Springs Renal Dialysis Unit
Special Kidney Health Checks at Todd Mall

The kidney health education sessions focussed on giving some decent exposure to the importance of early detection and prevention of kidney disease.

Staff provided free blood pressure and blood sugar health checks. If the level measured is above normal, with the client's permission, their GP will be advised and consulted.

The new Mobile Dialysis bus was there, see here in the photo. Tours were available for people to see what it offers and how it works.
